Hi all,
I have a deere 48C deck and am wondering if anybody knows of high lift blades made for this. I have read in my owners manual that there are mulching and standard blades available. On my 38" deck, it had low, medium, and high, lift blades available. The high lift ones really cut well. The mulching blades for the 48C deck are not high lift - they actually create a downdraft on the interior. I haven't talked to the dealer yet but since the manual said only standard blades were available I don't have high hopes of them helping me get high lift ones for it. Thanks for any info on such a thing for this deck.
J

I would stay strickly with John Deere blades for they do so much testing and metal factors for their blades. No need to wonder if there'ar goin fit.Or if faulty blades are gonna injure sombody.Man i tell u they are the best.Just do the research and u will see.

They may be "made for the unit", but John Deere does not make their own blades, aftermarket companies do more testing than the OEM's do. If Mother Deere would ,make a blade that would cut good, none would be looking outside the store for blades.

John Deere does infact hire other companies to build their order of blades. The thing is they are built to John Deere tough, and rugged specs. And that alone is alot to appriciate.Ask any "decent source" and u will understand.

I, like Mac went to Gator blades but they couldn't take the occassional rock(s)that ended up in the yard. They bent to easy. So, I've looked at the new Meg-Mo system that I'll purchase this fall for my 48C deck.
Check out www.meg-mo.com for more information.

The gators are the best way to go, but get the Gator Magnums, they are a lot heavier. You might want to look a little closer at the Meg-Mo system, a freind of mine bought one to put on his zero turn, sent them back, they pulled hard and did not mow as well as the originals, left a lot of uncut grass.
