I'd like FACTS on how long it should take to remove my 18hp magnum from my tractor. unhook shaft, carb&choke linkage, starter cable, 1 electrical harness, remove the front(holds my headlights) and 6 bolts i beleive that holds the motor plate to the frame, all this because of sometimes i get spark , other times i don't. my high tension leads are all cracked up from age but when running and i hose her down she does'nt break down at all, runs like a champ. go in the dark and look for any jumping spark, nothing. so i guess i'll replace the ignition module. just would like someone who has actually worked on a 1811 cub. this is a real garden tractor not the junk you get today. thanks to whoever can help.

I usually have the engine out of the frame in 20 to 25 minutes (as long as noboby bothers me on the phone). Another 15 minutes to get the screen and blower housing off and coil changed. Don't pull the engine plate out, unbolt the 4 bolts that hold the motor to the plate and make sure if it has spacers under the mounts.

Anon, thanks for info, iwas was told by a cub dealer mechanic to pull the front housing (which holds my headltes) will make it much easier and instead of the 4 bolts to pull the whole plate. I know you say to pull just 4 bolts but whats your input. Took the day off to get this job done today!!!
