Bob, I own a one wheel George garden tractor. The single wheel is made of cast iron, with bevel gear teeth cast into the side of it. I have found very little information on it, except for a few pictures in garden tractor books. I to would like to be in tough with other owners. Roy

Glad to find another owner, This makes 3 owners and 4 tractors. GEORGE was mfg. in Sullivan IL by Community Industries Inc. in the early 50's now Agri-Fab.

Bob,
I was thinking that because of the single cast iron wheel, (with no tire) that the date of manufacture would probably be out of the late 30s or maybe early 40s. I have replaced bushings and thrust washers in it, made clutch linkage and rockers. (I have no idea how the original linkage went), As it was gone when i bought the thing. I have also painted it red, blue, and silver. It is a cute little bugger.

Keep in tough,

Roy

Hello! I am an owner of a George 2 wheel tractor. I am in the process of restoring mine. I found mine sitting between two sheds with no spark plug in the engine. It was just rusting away. With this I got a front mount type tiller and a sickle bar mower. Then I have recently got for my birthday from my wife a rear mounted type rototiller and a snow blower. All brand new still in the original boxes. It is sweet. Visit my web page to view a couple photos of my George.

My 2 wheel george has original paint (orange with white lettering and black engine). The 1 wheel model owned by Fred Brown is painted green. Don't know if it is original color. Bob e-mail starlifterc141a@hotmail.com
