I have found the OEM belts do last longer. I dont like changing them any more than I have to.

When the closed down my local JD dealer, I went to generic belts from many sources. They were poor at best. Finally had to make a trip to a distant city where they had a JD dealer. Imagine my suprise to find that the JD belts were CHEAPER, and I found FAR longer lived. No more off brands here!

Gates lists for Deere RX75:

Primary 6943
Secondary 6947
Mower drive 30" 6863 38" 6899

Didn"t find Cub 1136 in my book. Go to Gates web site and order a catalog for yourself, mine was free.

Comparison shopping is the key here.
Primary----- JD M93045-13.50 gates 6943-25.19-
Secondary--- JD M94170-12.99 gates 6947-25.19
Deck drive-- JD M112006-15.25 gates 6899-36.37
I don't think you will find belts any cheaper than the OEM Deere belts. My cost on the gates belts are higher than the retail on the John Deere belts. Now, if you go with the cheap black belts, you will not get a belt that will last half as long as the JD belts. But, then it is your call. The cheap black belts are as follows
6943 green-3430 black-15.25
6947 green-3470 black-16.61
6899 green-2990 black-18.93
someone might discount these a little, and can find cheaper at the local farm store, if you want to replace belts frequently. Been doing this for 25 plus years, and this is from the 25 years experience.

The angle on the sides of a John deere belt are not the same as a regular belt you will find at other places and this will make wear much faster. Don't know if the Cub is the same or not.

If you have the old belts measure the circumfrance of the inside part of the belt, then use that measurement to go to your local hardware store or some autoparts stores such as napa!
Later!!

gene is right,DO NOT waste your time or money actually i should say your time as more then likely the deere belts will be cheaper.they have a different angle and will last lots longer then any other belt.
