I have a Briggs & Stratton engine, engine #146402, type 0179, I believe it was manufactured in 1966, 6-6 1/2 hp. My question is how do you remove the clutch? Looks like its pot metal or aluminum? Does it pull off or is it threaded? Does it require a special tool?

Thanks for any advice

Norm

Remove spark plug and with the piston at the bottom insert about a foot of rope. This will keep it from turnin so you can remove clutch. Remove clutch counterclockwise with channel locks.
