The drive belp on my LT133 was worn out (stretched out) and I replaced it with a new one. Now it's not gripping correctly. It drives best in reverse. 1st & 2nd work, but slowly. Anything higher loses grip and the belt gets burned by the engine drive pulley. All parts appear to be installed correctly and the springs re-attached to the correct places. On a jack with no load it appears to run normally.

Are you SURE you have the correct factory-replacement belt? Often, mower belts are a different width and pitch than other belts.

Also, if the engine pulley is badly worn, the belt will bottom and slip because the sides of the belt are not in good contact with the drive pulley.

You have to use only the J.D. belt. Does the belt get tight before the pedal is all the way up?
