I hope someone can help me diagnose my problem. The pto just stopped while I was mowing and I can't get it to turn back on. I pulled it up and down a few times after it first quit, and it did engage temporarily, but then quit for good.(when it quit the first time it kinda sounded like I was running out of gas) Is this a switch issue, or is there a clutch somewhere? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for the suggestions. One question tho, what/where is the air gap?

the air gap is the distance between clutch halves in the elec clutch, its usaally about 10-12 thousandths of an inch but check your particular application, over time due to normal wear or improper burnishment when new the gap becomes larger than specs thus the clutch works fine when cold but cuts out when it gets hot, after a few mins off or sometimes when the switch is pulled the surge of voltage will make it engage momentarily, there are three slotted windows on the clutch housing which a feeler gauge can be inserted to check the air gap.
