When I bought this Ingersoll tractor it didn't run. When you would try to start it a fuse would blow. And by shorting out the starter selanoid and trying to start it with the switch on, it didn't have any spark. It had the wrong switch on it. The right switch fixed the first problem. The reason for the sec. problem was that mice had made a home in the motor and chewed the coil wire off. With new coil it still wouldn't start as it wasn't getting gas. The 1st reason was rubber hose was bloking the flow. New gas line , still no gas, reason carb was all gumed up. Cleaned carb and it runs fine. Just info that may help some one if they have any of these problems

Well, looks like you've learned why trying to dignose a problem over the internet can be so hard. Also, why it's not always easy to immeadiately find problem even if it's sitting in the shop in front of you. Sometimes you just have to start with the basics and work your way though. On the plus side, it sure makes you feel good when you do get it figured out and running!!
