Before I hit the bolts with my impact wrench...
are they left or right hand threads??!!

The deck in question is on an MTD 800 series garden tractor, my little utility basher.

It is a 48" three blade deck, prior to their conversion to star washer/bolts.

Thanks in advance, grego

An impact wrench losens the bolt without
needing to work as hard to hold the blade.
This one doesn't have a backing nut or
other handy way to hold the blade from
turning. Besides the driver is handy.

A die grinder to grind off head or nut may be helpful. These deck bolts can be rough because if the deck is worn out the bolts are too.
