Old cub cadet 149.
Hydraulic lift stopped working.
Hydro drive works great, fluid clean and full.
The lift cylinder moves about 1 inch then stops.
Any Ideas!!! Thanks

I'd take the cylinder loose from it's mounting and see if it will stroke more when there's no load against it - which would indicate a pressure (lack of) problem - which could be a worn pump. Also, while doing this, gently move the controil lever back and forth to see if a slight different position give you a different movement (bad valve).
You can also take the cylinder off completely and blow air into it (messy, but good test) and see if you get air coming out the other port of the cylinder -- bad cylinder.
Beyond that, you probably have to get a pressure guage in line to test anymore.

Sounds like it could be a bad piston seal allowing fluid to leak from one side of the piston to the other. Or, it could be a leaking valve in the system that diverts fluid pressure from one side of the cylinder to the other.
