Looking to by my first JD lawn tractor. I have 3/4 acre thick fescue grass. I have narrowed down to these two. My question is it worth $800 to bump from LT160 up to Kawasaki 17 w/ 48" cut that the LT180 offers? What about the $500 jump to the LT180 w/ 42" cut? Thanks!

yes to the kawi, no to the 42.
the 38 to 42 change is almost non noticable in cut time. the kawi is a much better engine than the brigs.

The LT180 comes with 42 or 48 inch cut.

LT160 w/ 42 is 2599
LT180 w/ 42 is 3099
LT180 w/ 48 is 3399

I am leaning toward LT180 w/42 to save space in garage.

Thanks for responding.
