Unless you get lucky w/a used tranny, you may be better off to have your rebuilt.Hydros are actually pretty simple in design, may be something as simple as a blown o-ring or stuck valve.New complete hydros get pretty pricey.Believe Huskee is MTD product, they could adv mfg of hydro unit(Peerless,Sunstrand,Eaton etc)and provide you cost on replacement.

I am in need of a manual for the hrdro tranny for a 96 Huskee 60th anniversary model. I believe it is a Dana? Would you know where to get one that would explain how to replace the axle seals that are know leaking? What would be the most expensive repair needed to be done to a hydro tranny besides replacing the whole thing?
I am looking at purchasing a Huskee that has a leak at the rear axle seals and would like a little info from someone that knows what they are talking about before trying to make the repair.
