i have a case 222 with a 12hp kohler, its been sittin for 2 years and now the carb was ful of crap. i cleaned it out and now there is electrical problems. it has a drain in it somewhere and i have just lived with it for a long time but now i tried to hook up up the battery and i got shocked. after close examination it seems that the sylinoid is wired backwards or something because you can hear a faint sound from the sylinoid but the starter wont turn over. i know its not the starter because it was just rebuilt. has anyone had this happen before? and also, does anybody know where i can find parts for the clutch?

I have a case 220, I had to jump the solenoid(?) to start the thing for 1 year. I finally ate 2 batteries and got tired. The solenoid on mine has 4 posts. top post- battery wire and black wire from harness by key switch with larger eye, second post from top- yellow wire from key switch, 3rd post- black wire from key switch with smaller eye, bottom post- wire to starter. to start had to get test light (by accident the first time). ground to engine bolt, then touch the bottom 2 posts together while turning key. The solenoid is the return of the charge from the regulator to the battery. If solenoid bad will eat batteries like mine was doing. NAPA parts has a replacement for 40 bucks. I hope this helps. If you find out about the clutch parts, let me know. I neeed the discs as mine shattered today.
