Is there a site like this to help with troubleshooting atv's.I have a 1992 polaris 350 4x4 that only starts with the choke on but kills as soon as I give it some throttle.

Steve,

Check the inline fuel filter, if there isn't one check to see that the tank is not obstructed at the gas cock. Pull off the fuel line and see if gas comes out when it is on reserve and in the on position. The only reason I can figure, if you haven't done anything to the carb, is when you have the choke on there is a greater drop in atmospheric pressure(vacuum) creating more suction into the carb, when you hit the throtle the engine has no fuel going to it thus it kills because the air fuel mixture is so lean there is nothing to combust.

If you have monkeyed around with the carb you might have to readjust the fuel mixture jet and the high and low speed jets. Check with your polaris dealer about the type of carb you have, some carbs work opposite when you adjust the fuel air mixture screw. (turning it in makes it richer)

Good luck and let me know how it goes.

Dave

Steve, It sounds like you need to at least clean the carb.

I am not sure of a site to send you to for help. Just use a search engine and start browsing.

Rob
