What am I missing? 19.5 B&S Craftman mower will not start with the key, someone has locked all the safty switches down but when you hit the key it has fire to the solenoid but it won`t go. It will run if I short out the two battery posts on the solenoid I have had 3 solenoids on it they all do the same thing. If I run a wire from the battery to the small solenoid terminal it still won`t start. (I don`t have much hair but it`s getting thinner by the min. KJM

you might have another saftey switch that is in the ground wire for the solenoid. if the solenoid has two small wires going to it, it has to ground thru one of those wires. if it only has one small wire it grounds thru the mounting screws. make sure the frame it is touching is clean so the connection will be clean, bright, and tight

Dale, It has 3 wires on the solenoid and one was and is still unhooked and I have no idea where it goes. One wire to the switch one to the headlights and one on the same side as the lights that goes to nothing. Thanks KJM
