You should read the model number as follows:
T9 = 3 hp
53 = year produced 1953
419 = production number 419th produced in 1953

My husband has a 1953, 3 hp bantam garden tractor. Before he restores it, he is having a problem with the timing. Do you have any suggestions as to who he can go to for help? We live in the Pittsburgh area. The tractor is complete with all accessories. It does run, however it backfires under power. Thanks, Karen

Sir, my uncle has 2 of the Bantum garden tractors. I will pass on the model # of your tractor and attempt to get an answer to your question.
