I recently bought a really nice Gravely walk-behind that looks like its from the 60's. In great shape and has dual wheels, but where is the serial no stamped? I have plenty of farm tractors and serial no is always stamped somewhere on a plate, frame or on the block. Any clues?

Hi David
If the # is not on tag over gas tank as Mike said but was at one time there will be 4 small rivet holes. In the mid 60s the serial number was moved to the lower side of front casting, it will be upside down and easier to read.
Gravely motors are easy ot id. as to hp.6.6 has large spark plug (15/16") and 7.6 has smaller plug. hope this helps ask if you need more help.

You might want to try the Gravelyclub or gravelygardentractors forums over on yahoo. Those guys live and breathe Gravelys.

Look on the fuel tank. If it has the Gravely motor with the fuel tank on top of the motor between the handlebars, there should be a manufacturers plate with the serial number stamped on it.
