Today I picked up a Gravely walk behind mower with a sickle bar up front that is about 3 feet wide or so. The engine has a belt that goes up from the crankshaft pulley to a pulley that runs a fan near the top of the engine between the handle bars. To me the way the mower drive comes out and down it looks like an ant eater and the sickle bar is way out ahead of the unit. It has a patent day on the side of one of the drive castings of 1933. I went to the Gravely page and in the history of Mr. Gravely there is a picture of a machine that looks like mine. It also said to put in a serial number and they could tell me the year and model but I can't find a sn. Any idea of what I have and where I could find the sn. Thank you all and sorry for the long post.

Roger

Go to Dick Harold's web site and you can find serial number to year tables ands lots of other information and pictures. You can remove the sickle bar attachment with the four bolts that attach it to the forward casting. You than bolt up any one of over 70 other attachments that were made for it, most are easy to find. Go to Yahoo and then groups and search for Gravely and you will find a number of Gravely tractor forums.
There is a Gravely Tractor Club of America and it costs $20 a year. You geat a real nice little magazine and we get together once a year for a show and swap meet. There should be Mow-In pictures on Dick's site.
