Can anyone please advise serial numbers & years of a Cub Cadet 1810 & 1811. Also when I engage the PTO switch the blades come on and shut right off. What is wrong? Thank you in advance!!

1810 and 1811 were made mid-80s through around 1991...going straight from memory. Maybe that helps a bit.

PTO shutting right off may mean a bad coil. Once the juice is put to it, it may heat and open the conenction internally. You'll have to trace yer wiring with a volt-ohm meter to be certain, though, and look for weak connections anywhere in the ciruit. Or try jumping direct from battery + to the PTO and see if it stays engaged.

Another possible cause may be a faulty safety switch that arcs and then cuts out when juice flows. Or a bad on-off switch, for the same reason.

I have an 1811...one of the nicest Cub Cadets ever made. Basically the same as an IH 782 but with aluminum rear end housing and much better 18 hp Kohler Magnum engine. The 1810 was manual lift; 1811 was hydraulic.

Hope this helps some.

Do you know where I might get manuals and accessories for Cub Cadet 1811 Hydro?
Thanks
