I own two wheel Bear Cat bought by my father in 1948. About the size of a David Bradly. I can supply a picture if anyone is interested. This
tractor is in excellent condition. Need information about the manufacturer.

My husband has purchased a tiger cat tractor and would like to know the original color of the tractor. He is restoring it. If you could help in anyway we would be grateful.

Thank you for your time. Penny Stambaugh

I have a Bear Cat that my father bought used in
the early 50's It is a junior model. The info I
have which is little, is that it was made by
Ellinwood industries inc. and they were located
in Huntington, West Virginia. I have a couple of
recent pictures but have not scanned them into
the computer. This tractor has the tilting engine
belt drive mechanism. It originally had a Clinton
1 or 2 horse engine, but my father replaced it
with a brigs stratton years ago. It is geared really low and could push a freight train. When
we were kids we used to hook all the wagons in the neighborhood together and then pull them around with this tractor. I would be interested
in seeing the pictures you have if they can be sent electronically. I called the library in
Huntington West Virginia but could not find out
any information on the tractor or the fate of
Ellinwood Industries. There is actually a company
called bearcat that has a website but they make
stump grinders and wood chippers. I called them
also but they didn't know anything about tractors.

I have one of these walk behinds, I too can not find much info on them. My engine is missing but frame and running gear are in great condition. Do your pictures have any decals or paint details showing ? Thanks
