Best tiller

I've had various opinions on the best type of tiller and without having tried any, the choice made will have to be the best one. The soil is heavy with a lot of organic matter. I'm looking at at which style is best: The models with reversing tines. The models with drive wheels. The style like Honda makes with half forward and reverse turning tines. The basic model that pulls itself along as it digs. Or any combination of above. Is there a size that gets too big and unmanageable to handle. Asking for opinions. Thanks.

I am not familiar with your unit, but most brakes
for lawn tractors are on the side of the transaxle
Look for a small rotor/disc on the side. The rod
to the lever may have become disconnected, or it may just need adjustment. Fish

I've been running a troy-bilt with kohler engine for 20 years. The only repair I've had to do is change the axle oil seals twice - used in sandy soil.

We have a Troy-Bilt (http://www.troybilt.com/) 5.5 hp Honda engine Pro-Line tiller and are very happy with it. Our garden is a little over 1/4 acre, basically heavy red clay with lots of organic matter in it. This tiller has standard rotation rear bolo tines and power reverse which my wife, an average size woman, really appreciates. It's not the largest or most powerful tiller but it gets the job done and it's easy to use.
