I have a 14 hp BS OHV that acts like its out of time when you try to start it. It will pop thru the carb and thru the muffler. I'm pretty sure it has an ignition module. Is there any way it can get out of time? I've checked the key in the flywheel and the valves appear to be working alright, what times the module to fire? The spark plug has a yellowish spark when you turn it over. Thanks in advance,
Jeff

Unless the Flywheel key is sheared the Spark timming is impossiable to get out of time with the new moduals, Try a New spark Plug that one might be Dead as a hammer, The yellow spark shows weak fire, Try new plug if still has yellow Fire to Plug, Remove if not still off the engine shroud Check the air gap Between the Flywheel and Magento modual, Take a index card place between the mag and flywheel, and this is pretty much the right setting for the air gap,Check the valve Lash, Make sure with engine on compression stroke, Both valves closed both rocker arms should have some movement to them, If not the Valve lash might be to tight, But yellow spark Leds me to belive that it is Spark related, E mail me for any more assistance i might be
