I see that a few guys mounted bachhoes on their tractors,Iam presently installing a unit on my MTD, but I read that (Ron Phillips)put a backhoe on his Bolens, and removed the unit because it kept breaking the axle collars. Is there a proper way to mount the unit,I have used the two axle thangs (cast iron)as well as the rail supports above the axle housing. Should I also run beam supports forward and connect them to the loader frame as well.I really don't want to destory my tractor for wishful thinking. An ideas welcome,thank-you.Stephen

assuming you are fabricating this why not have drop feet like a large backhoe would have? even a couple of manually set feet like if you used a trailer jack on each side of the back hoe it would probably solve your problem

You could mount the backhoe on a solid axle and pull it with the MTD. That would keep the weight off of the tractor.
