I've just started looking into purchasing a 'walk behind' tractor. Someone near me is selling a Gravely Super Convertible (don't know what age yet) for $500. This price includes dual wheels, chains, elec start, snow-blade, rototiller, rotary mover, sickle bar and machine parts.

If it's in decent working order does it sound like a fair price? I don't know much about these machines, but the feedback on Gravely's seems good.

Thanks in advance ..

It sounds like a good deal, what year is it? I have a 1962LS and its been excelent you can use gravelys for about anything. Although they are very expensive to maintain, but then again it depends on how old it is. I have spent about $3,000 on repairs on it in the past, but it does everthing I nead to do so the money doesnt really matter.

If the tractor operates well, and doesn't smoke, you've got a good deal. The attachments and tractor (depending on their condition) I've found to be extremely durable. Also, parts are readily available.
