I have a 24 fordson, went to start it this afternoon, it cranked and ran but not well, back fire in through the carb. after some checking I found the # 3 & 4 cylinders not hitting. pulled plugs checked and they are firing and are wet with gas. could i have two stuck intake valves?

I had a dead miss on the #2 cylinder of my '23 model F like you're describing and it turned out to be the exhaust valve. The valve spring retainer had worn out and popped off of the end of the stem of the valve. I ended up making some larger "keepers" to fit the old and worn retainers.

Remove the cover on the side of the block below the manifold and check your valve operation. Be sure to turn the fuel valve and ignition off while spinning the engine.

I just dragged a Fordson Steel Wheeler home with date next to Steering column reading 1923. A bunch of dates but 1923 being the most recent. If you have any info or suggestions for me in my journey to bring this back to life, I would appreciate it.

thank you,
