Not bad Alex. Some TLC and a gallon of paint will do wonders for it.

Thanks :)
I been looking around and reading up back posts in this room...a lot to learn.
Sounds as if shes got no working heater plug and also sounds like the easy-start may have done some damage. Haven't had a close look yet. The good news is southern counties tractors do new bits and a complete engine overhaul kit is about £200 ..Does that sound about right? I paid £500 odd for her so that still makes a cheap tractor. Especially if I could do the job myself or do you think it might be a bit hard for a novice?
Either way I'm keen to get her going..I couldn't start her before but I think the battery wasn't doing me any favours. It was a car one that made 45 /ah , today I got the one for a dexta and it does nearer 100 / ah. Should give me a better chance!
Also on the side of the engine it says
J130
957E 7505
T2
Does this tell me how old it is?

Finally (this has really chuffed me!!) , my dad found an original dexta manual / handbook in his desk drawer that has been there since 1960 and is now on my bookshelf.
Now, how lucky is that? And it arrived the day we played argentina. Happy days indeed!

Alex,

There is another site you should look at that has, among other things, lists of numbers and dates of manufacture.

Try the link below.
