Hello, everyone. I have a question, and I don't have much information, but maybe someone can help. I posted this message on the Ford board, and they said I could probably get more info here. So here goes. My uncle is rebuilding my grandfathers old tractor. All he likes is the rear fenders and a steering wheel. I would like to know where I can find some, but first any help I can get on clearing up what kind of tractor we have is appreciated. A tractor parts guy told my uncle that it was a 1964 Ford Dexta, then I hear that Dextas were Fordsons, but this tractor has Ford 2000 on it. Can someone help clear this up?
Thanks in advance.

Hi

For export to USA Dexta's where badged Ford diesel 2000, Super Dexta's 4000 and the Super major 5000. They are all Fordson's. This was done just before the introduction of the world wide 1000 series.
3 cilinder diesel, 6 speed tranny?
is a Dexta

I've understood that they didn't make the Fordson Dexta anymore in the 1964. They made only the models Super Dexta and Super Major. In July(?) 1964 they ceased the production of Fordsons. Is it possible that the tractor is an early Ford 2000 which was the smallest of the new 1000 series? The new series tractors were also called 2000 Dexta, 3000 Super Dexta, 4000 Major, 5000 Super Major.

Well, now that we have it kinda narrowed down, if I bought a rear fender set and steering wheel for a Ford 2000, would it fit? Or is there more I need to know in order to get the right part? Thanks again
