Paul, any reputable brake shop should be able to make new cables for you using your original cable sheaths. just make sure you give them the right lengths and also give them the old cables so they can duplicate the correct cable ends. As far as brake shoes go get new non asbestos ones from the same shop, again supplying your old ones as a pattern. be careful when handling your old ones because if they are original they will be asbestos. It will also probably be neccessary to turn out the brake drums to accomodate the new shoes any good engineering shop will do this for you.I took 5mm out of both mine and the brakes turned out better than new!! The whole job cost less than $75NZ. Good luck.

If it's a 1955 it will have drum brakes. The cables are available from Ford at a price. The brake shoes are not. What do you need?

Call L.J. Hand Farm Center, Inc. @ 1-800-724-1080. They have a Major that has the right cable intact. You'll be best serviced to have the shoes relined.
