Internal leakoff pipe

A few days ago I wrote about dropping oil pressure in my diesel Fordson Power Major. A fellow by the name of Brian responded in the Tractor Talk page by suggesting I check the internal leakoff pipe to the injectors. My oil level does rise a bit, so I thought that Brian's thought about fuel getting into the oil was a good suggestion to follow up with. However, I can only find a reference to the leakoff pipe in the service manual, no pictures or description of where to find it. Is it inside the rocker arm cover? Can anyone help?

If I had any thought that fuel is getting into the oil I would take a sample and send it in for analysis. Autozone, Bumper to Bumper or the large auto parts companies can do that for you. To me it's worth the peace of mind to know for certain.

BLB Hi,

The leakoff pipe is in the valve cover running along the top of the injectors. Sometimes the banjo unions come loose or break where they are soldered to the pipe.

Brian,
Thanks for your info. In the next few days I'll get a chance to take off the valve cover and see whether the leakoff pipe is my problem.
Question two: Is there an over pressure valve in the oil filter housing that the oil filter canister cover screws on to that insures that oil flows to the engine even if the oil filter is plugged? Can that valve get stuck open or shut or not function properly? Could a novice like me do something while changing the oil filter to mess up the operation of the valve? Thanks again. I really appreciate your help.

I don't think you could effect the oil pressure with just the changing, unless you changed the type filter. If I use a MF filter instead of a Fram or Ford filter I lose about 10-12 lbs pressure on my tractor.
