My manual covers period 52 to 64.
s/n is stamped on lhs of clutch housing flange
and prefixed by model number. Engine s/n is stamped on lhs of cylinder block. All models.

Hi Tim
I've just looked at my Dexta and have the same number 7005 on the side of the gearbox - it must be a part number. I have my serial number because it is on the registration document which came from the previous owner. Can't find the serial no. on the tractor - will keep looking.

Hi Tim
I have looked up the Dexta serial numbers and think you must have the final number missing from your post.
According to my book the production was as follows:

1957: 957E1 to 143
1958: 957E144 to 22557
1959: 957E22558 to 44431
1960: 957E44432 to 71920
1961(to Oct): 957E71921to ? then 09A from Nov 1961

This probably places your tractor in late 1960 but you need to find the missing number.

My Dexta has the number 957E68544 which places it in 1960 but it was apparently in stock for some months as it was first registered for road use on 24 March 1961. (The farmers in those days probably held back over the winter and bought for Spring cultivations!)

Best of luck with the Dexta, they're great little tractors.

Tim, The reason that AdrianUK can't find your serial number in his list, is because you posted your engine number in your first post. The engine number is a totally different number from the tractor serial number on a Dexta. Keep looking on the left-hand side of the clutch housing flange and you will find it.
