fordson p6 problem

I have a fordson p6, and the other day it started to black smoke and was strugling on the hills, it then started to overheat. A few days later i tried it and it seemed better but it still was a bit smokey and it also had a bit of blue smoke out of the pipe, any ideas whats wrong? You can see it on U tube just put fordson p6 in and mine is described me driving my p6

Hi Tristan, could you have a blockage in your air cleaner system somewhere. Black smoke usually is either excess fuel or air restriction. Slipped timing mostly gives white smoke. Best regards-Michael

It sounds like your injection timing may have slipped, I would check the timing and also the condition of the timing chain to see if there is any evidence stretching or tooth damage. Hope this helps.
