I have just bought a 1958 power major which i pick up on sunday. Will this be a live drive model? what is the top speed? And also it is painted in the dark blue paint the same as the E27N not the light empire blue like all the others, could this be original? many thanks in advance guys. Adam.

1. Not all Power Majors were live drive. This was an extra and was not common in my area of England. We did not sell more that 15% live drive. The clutch was expensive to repair and not up to a lot of hard work or loader work.

2. Top speed is about 15mph.

3. No Power Major or even Fordsom Major Diesel was painted the dark blue of the E27N Major from the factory. They were all Empire Blue which is the light blue.
