Anyone know where to get a rebuild kit for a Fordson Major Diesel starter? I would like to replace the brushes and what not in my starter, but I can't find a kit anywhere.
Thanks.

Matt, I found a fella here in Raleigh NC that can rebuild them. He has rebuilt 3 for me. Alternator & Starter of the Triangle . He may be able to tell you where he gets his parts from. Good Luck, Robert

Just looked through that catalog.
Thank you so much for your help Dan.
Where are you located? Lucas doesn't seem to be real popular around here. Most electrical automotive parts are Delco, with some Autolite.
I have to get the number off my starter (which is a real treat with the loader on!) and send an order to Ingram. Thanks again!

Thanks Dan.
I purchased a Bareco starter for another Fordson. High quality piece that works very well. The starter I would like to repair is just weak, doesn't grind or seem to have any other problems. Everything else has been replaced upstream of the starter. I was hoping to locate a rebuild "kit" so I wouldn't have to let the tractor sit for too long (hunting down parts).
Thanks for the advice.
