Greetings, I know braising is the way to go but is there an epoxy that will hold up to the temperature on an exhaust manifold?

Well, it depends where you are putting it and what you are expecting it to do! You might get lucky with some of the metal filled epoxies.

To help insure your luck, you will have to take the manifold off the tractor, sandblast or wire brush away all rust and soot. Solvent clean it to get rid of all greas and combustion byproducts and gind the application area with 36 grit grinding wheel. Then apply several thin layers of the material, let it set up per instructions between coats.

If your gonna do all that, why not drive it to a welding shop, pay the 20-40 bucks and have it brazed? Heck, for about 100 bucks a good shop can ox/ac gas weld with a cast iron stick and heat treat it back to like new!

I've seen JB Weld used on some small jobs. We had a foreign car exhaust manifold that the bolt had stripped, and it worked for that! RJ
