Anyone know where to find the rubber hose that runs from the intake to the hard pipe, which eventually leads to the oil bath? It is approximately 3"OD at the intake, then a 90 degree elbow, then approx. 2.75"OD at the hard pipe. The hose currently on the tractor developed a hole. I have been looking around auto parts stores, and the best they can come up with is a 3" flexible hose. I don't like it.
ALso checked with Bareco, and the closest Ford dealer.
By the way, it doesn't have to look original. This tractor is a worker.
Thanks.

I fabricated a replacement for my '55 FMD using 2" PVC pipe and fittings. I cut down a 2" to 2" Fernco rubber plumbing adapter to attach my plenum to the intake manifold, and fitted a 2" to 2" Fernco rubber 90 degree elbow in there to absorb vibrations between the engine and oil bath. I went to the hardware store and started laying things out from off the shelf until I had what looked like it would work. Good Luck, Jerry

Great idea with the Fernco's! I hadn't thought of them. I bought a generic intake hose from Autozone (looks like the kind that used to go off the snoot of a Chevy V8 air cleaner), but I can tell you right now that I am not going to like that set up. Too chintzy. Fernco and PVC sounds like the way to go.
BTW, my 55 ran like a maniac with a hole in the intake hose. Felt like it suddenly developed another 20 hp! I duct taped over the hole to get it back to the barn. Maybe I should look at putting a K&N filter on it instead of the oil-bath!
Thanks.
