I recently bought a Ford Dexta and could use some advise. I think it is a 1958, is this a positive ground system? It has been hooked positive to positive but does not seem to be charging. How will I know if has been converted and if it has been done correctly? Also the two lights on console, which one is generator and oil pressure? How much oil pressure should I have ? One other thing, when it is first started it does not run smooth, it revs slightly up and down for about two minutes, is this normal? Any advise would be greatly appreciated.

Not sure about your electrical issues, but the reving up & down for a couple of minutes is perfectly normal.
I've got a Dexta which has been converted to alternator. I had problems charging & it turned out to be a broken wire !

Cheers Eunan
