just about all of the dextas had 3 cylinder diesel engines. However, a very small number used "Standard" petrol engines, same as used by Fergusons. Is it Blue, Gray, or Red? Take a look at some of the pictures posted on this site.

I think more information is needed to identify, size of tires, type of transmission, headlights, in grill or not, any other distinguishing features, hydrolics, type of adjustment on wheels

Hey Ron, sorry to butt in with a different thread but I know you have the exact same tractor as mine.
My son-in-law is a heavy equipment operator and told me that my backhoe would use a 15w40 engine oil, foolishly I listened to him and added it.
Now I have a foamy mess.
What do you use in yours?

no , no, no, dump all the oil you can. disconnect the lines from the pistons if you can, then add about 5 gallons of all weather hydraulic fluid or enough to get the cylinders working, dump that fluid then add full amount of all eather hydraulic fluid to the system and you should be OK, don't forget to clean out the filters and strainers if you have them. The reason for going through all this is, hydraulic fluid will not attack the seals in the pistons, motor oil will! Good luck, where are you located?

Yea, I kinda figured as much, so much for my "expert" son-in-law.
Thanks for the confirmation Ron, will Hy-Tran work or not?
I'm located about 80 miles NE of Los Angeles, in the San Bernardino Mountains.

Right now, 70 degrees & sunny!!
I just bought 15 gallons of "RYKON" ISO 46 AW, that should do it.
