Good evening. I could also use some advice about front wheel berrings. My car is a 1997 Chevrolet Cavalier. I took the car to an auto shop today and the front passenger side wheel berrings are ready to go. I will be moving permanately this upcoming Monday to a destination that is 275 miles away. I do not want the berrings replaced before my departure, due to the cost. A friend of mine in my future home can replace them for a fraction of the cost. I have only driven the car about 20 miles since the problem became noticable. Do you think that making the 275 mile trip is possible, before replacing the berrings. All other berrings are fine. Thank you very much for your advice. Have a great evening. Jim

Turn the hexagon cap in the wheel center counterclockwise to screw the cap out.

Ron, don't feel too bad. The "stupid" question is usually the very one the rest of us wanted to ask but didn't have the courage to. They do look like solid hubs, and I probably would've attempted to pry them off rather than unscrew them had I not read this first.
