I'm looking to change out liquid ballast on rear wheels and replace with cast iron weights. This option just seems a more simple way of adjusting the weight as I change farm implements. The tractor is also fitted with a front end loader and I use a rear ballast as well when using the loader. Does anyone have any experience with the cast weights? Any good? Where can I find some used ones? - Thanks.

As mentioned in other posts, it will be difficult to add enough cast iron to compensate for the removal of the ballast. As a guestimate you would probably need 3 weights per side of the tractor to equal the liquid weight in the tires. You could also build a counterweight for the 3pt hitch if you didn't want to spend the money on the wheeel weights.

If your aversion to the liquid ballast is rim corrosion, there are non-corrosive liquid ballasts available.

i also have a '78 3600 with loader. i started out with wheel weights only, and with any load in the bucket, it couldn't get out of it's own way. i added cacl this winter and it had a great difference, use both.

I'd be inclined to add cast in addition to the CaCl on that tractor considering that you have a loader on it.
If nothing else you want to at least replace the weight of the CaCL which will be 500-550 # per side depending on the mixture, fill level and tire size...
It's hard to add that much cast weight on those little wheels.

If you have a loader, you probably need the equivalent weight of both rear tires 75% fluid filled or so at all times the loader is installed, or the tractor won't be able to get out of its own way. I'd leave the liquid ballast in.

I have some cast weights on the back of my 7000, TW35, and the 5000 I bought a week ago as a project.(ones on 5000 will probably end up on 4600, since it's the loader tractor) All my tractors except the TW have fluid in the tires. I think you'll find it's more of a pain to put the weights on and take them off than it's worth. I take front weights off when I don't need them, but never bother with the rear weights. I think you might have a hard time getting enough cast weights on for loader work. There's a set on ebay right now, but I don't know if it's the right size for your 3600, (depends on wheel size and power or manual adjust) or close enough to pick up. You could try checking local dealers or parts yards.
