I know its been covered hundreds of times but I cant seem to find the exact answer to my question. My 860 3pt wont raise all the way up with a load on it and its movement is real slow.It does raise but slow. I went to the dealer and they told me to take it apart to see what parts I need. I took it all apart (cover off)and I don't have a clue what parts I need. I am assuming that I have a leak in there somewhere. I also cant seem to get the piston out of the sleeve. Is there a trick to this? Tell me if I am wrong on my plans.... I plan to replace all of the O rings on the cover (5 of them), the O ring and piston seal. My thoughts were that the piston seal is worn letting hydraulic fluid leak through. I have blown up parts diagram in front of me also so I can see what you all are talking about. And again, how do I get the piston out of the sleeve?

Here's a thread that may help. If you do a search of the archives you'll find several more about slow hydraulics. Hope this helps.

Chris:

Ideally, you would have drained the oil down below the level of the inspection plates and operated the lift with the plates removed to find out if and where it is leaking before disassembly.

As to removal of the piston from the cylinder: This can be easily done with compressed air. Needless to say, you must use due care when doing so to avoid injury or damage to components.

Does it sound like I am on the right track in replacing the above listed O rings and seals?

You probably need to replace the cam follower pin also. It is a 5/16" diameter pin that a cam rubs against. Most of them have a groove worn about half way through them.

Can you shed a little light on the cam follower pin? Do you know the part number? I can not find this on my diagram. I see the cam drawbar control.

The follower pen looks to be in good shape. O rings are all intact but squished a bit. Piston looks good so all I am going to do is replace all O rings and piston seals.
