Have been unsuccessful in stopping the hydraulics from bobbing. Even went as far as to take it to the local NH dealership. $300 later, hydraulics still bob, no change. Yesterday, I noticed the hydraulic pump was rattling noisily with a load on. I have been through the lift cover twice myself, and two times at the NH dealership. Piston was not replaced, but did put in a new seal and leather backup. I am at a loss here. What advice would you care to share? Thanks in advance. Rikiz

Probably not the problem but have you bled your pump of air. Mine was making the noise your is and bled the pump of air by slightly loosening the plug on top of the pump a little. Air in the system can cause the bobbing to some extent since it act like a shock absorber.

Forgot to add, if it is at max travel when the pump is ratteling.. it may be running against relief if the linkages are out of adjustment.

Does it bob if you lift it to just under max lift?

Linkages adjusted at NH dealership. Piston not replaced, but seal and leather backup replaced.
All valves removed and checked at NH. It bobs a lot under load, but if there is no load, the arms stay steady.
After all the work he had done, the NH mechanic said that the manifold might have a crack in it and should be replaced. I can't find any sign of a crack, or other defect, so haven't replaced it. Any advice will be appreciated. Thanks, Rikiz

The bobbing is for sure, regeneration and leakdown on the circuit. assuming the new seal inthe lift cyl is good, and the lift cyl is not so worn as to allow oil bypassing.. then it sounds like it is in the unload valve.. or check valve. have you had them apart?
