I have two 3000 Ford Tractors. One was built in England. The serial number is B022402. The production code is 5J17C. The Model number is C1235C. The confusion for me is that the tractor is a diesel and not LP. Did the English plant use a different code for indicating fuel type? Also, Is there a way to associate the serial number with production date? My tractor that was made in England "looks" like a later model than my tractor that was made in the USA....the fenders are bigger and body parts look more modern. Can anyone help me out?

Re manufacture date - I believe that the code 5J17C indicates that it was manufactured on 17 th september 1965 on the night shift. The serial number is too early for it to be 1975.

My 3000 is 7J17 - built exactly 2 years after yours.

model number is strange.. i dont believe you have a two speed pto. or lp.. but... i do know that english tractors had wider running boards, fenders that covered the wheels better and hand brakes... remember that english tractors had to pull crops to market on hyways and therefore had to have enclosed fenders, emergency brakes and headlights had to be mounted inside the grill to comply with english vehicle rules.. so why is your model number so wierd??

the 12 would indicate a highway model and some of those had a speedomter on them as well.

What does the "Highway" model mean?

My tractor has lights mounted on the side of the hood not in the grill.

What on the tractor tells you that you have a two speed PTO other than the production code?

Also I've noticed that the 3-point bars are much heavier on the tractor made in england than the one made in USA.
