I have a Ford Model 1811 Industrial Tractor Loader Backhoe serial# 81596 that we are planning on restoring. Can anyone tell me about these industrial tractors? I can't seem to find anything historical about them. Can I assume that the 59 in the serial number is the year 1959? Thank you for your help.

Hi,
I own a 1960 1811 industrial loader. I've been looking for 4 years on information on mine with no luck. When ordering parts, nobody knows what an 1811 is but I've found that a 4040 tractor is basically the same tractor but not industrial so ask if they have the same part but for industrial or in heavy duty. To the best of my knowledge you own a 1959; if you get the service manual, an 1811 industrial belongs in the ( 601, 701, 801, 901, 1801) series and the serial numbers in 1959 start with 58312 and go to 105942. Since you have owned yours the same amount of time or longer, please tell me if you have more information than I do.

I'd say it's a 1959, not because of the 59 in the number, but because the 1959 serial numbers began with 58312 and the 1960 started with 105943, so you's is in the 59 group. Tony Jacobs can pin point your casting numbers to month made. Also, on top orf the radiator is a stamped date. If it hasn't been replaced, that might help you.

I havent found any info on these. You might dig throught the site Ive posted, they have little tidbits like the picture. I would guess that 1959 is not the year since most of the Fords had a group of sn to a year and you would have to find a chart that listed what serial numbers fit each year. Your Ford New Holland dealer might be able to help..
