ok we used it to unload chopper boxes today and we had more faulty codes pop up they are f390, f322 f333 and f014 when you say the rm harness on the left rear of the cab is this looking forward when sitting in the seat and is it inside the cab or under the cab

yes we have checked the hydralic fluid level and filters the lever is good and the filters look like the dealership replaced them trying to get a cheap fix. today when we were driving it the code f390 started to show up and the the code f018 still flashed. and were exactly is the rear main harness? we mostly deal wish case ih tractors but my boss bought a ford cause the price was right and thought we should try it. one more thing is that sometimes one gear will work and another one wont but the next time the one gear that worked wont work and the gear that didnt work will so if that helps out with figuring out the problem thanks for all the help so far

Everything you sighted so far has implications to RM (rear main) harness.

F390 is transmission temperature sensor failed high.

I take it F345 has disappeared (corrected itself)?

The RM has multiple connections. You may wish to check them all. I'd start with C002. This is a Molex connector, the rear one of two under the left rear corner of the cab. You'll have to twist/pull this away from the CCM, which actually is inside the cab. Both C002 and C001 appear to be plugged into the cab floor at this location.

If you don't have RM problems, the CCM itself could be going loco. Ag Express Electronics rebuilds these quickly at their Des Moines location. And for a fraction of the cost of a replacement from Ford (NH).

One further thing - check all the chassis grounds for looseness and/or corrosion.

when you check the connector plugs, make sure you check for pins not installed fully, had some that when you screw the plugs together the pins are pushed back out of the holders, also, have you tried a transmission calibration lately? good sign of needing calibration is poor clutch pedal feathering response, the transmission itself is a FUNK unit, and have been pretty reliable around here

Check that Rear Main Harness connector really good. Another suggestion might be the oil and filters for transmission since you're not showing fault codes pertinent to the transmission. Does it have a proper oil in it? Is it clean and up to place? How old is the filter?

You say you have transmission problems? What are the transmission symptoms?

Neither of the codes you cited is a transmission fault code. F018 is a disconnection or failure of both draft pins. F345 is an axle speed sensor failure. Both of these have circuits running through the rear main harness. That could be coincidental or it could be your culprit. The Rear Main Hsrness connector (C002) to the CCM (Chassis Control Module) is under the cab near the left rear corner. Disconnect, inspect, clean and reconnect it. If this clears your codes you've got it made. If not there are diagnostic proceedures that are too long and detailed to list here.

If you wish to manage this system kind of on your own, you need to purchase at least section 3 of the NH service manual for it.

I do not know of a website that has this info.
