Wondering if anyone can help? I have a 1955 Ford 860, with power steering. Every time I start the tractor, power steering fluid flows out the cap vent on the power steering reservoir and the fan blows it all over the tractor. Of course the power steering caps on my trucks don't have vent holes in them,so I thought that someone may have changed caps, but the cap thats on there is the correct cap, with fluid dip stick etc.. The fluid level when warm is correct, that is until I start the tractor a few times, but even when low it blows out. Can anyone help? P.S. the pump is contained in the reservior. Thanks, Rich

Are you sure that it comes out of the cap and not the front seal of the pump. My 901 had oil all over everything. When I pulled the pump, I decided it was the seal and replaced it. No problem now. I think the seal was $3 from Ford. I'd check/change that seal first. If the seal is bad, it might suck air in the seal and cause foaming. Don't know for sure. That seal was my problem.
