I've searched and searched in the archives for this problem and can't seem to find anything. So I apoligize in advance if this has been covered.

I've got an 860 that I bushhog with. Throughout the summer I've noticed that I have had to change the position (move up) on the lift lever to maintain the same heighth that I used to have with lever pushed about 3-4 inches away (down) from the "all the up" position. I am now only pushing lever down about an inch from "all the up" position to maintain the same desired heighth. Hydraulics also will not pick the mower up like it used too. I removed the mower to see if it would raise arms up with no load. That didn't help. It still only picks arms up so far, about 4-6 inches, loaded or unloaded and that's it! I can physically pick arms up another foot or more past where the hydraulics quit picking them up on its own. I'm not sure what pump is on it, I will be checking tomorrow, I now know what to look for. I'm not sure where to start

Any and all help is greatly appreciated

Thanks

It definately sounds like a wear issue inside the top cover. Remove the side cover where the PTO lever is start the tractor (make sure it's not in gear and brakes are secure) Look in with a light and you will see the linkage and the plunger that controls the lift raise the touch control lever to the top and after the arms stop reach inside and push the plunger towards the front of the tractor and see if the arms go up further, if so then you have to adjust the linkage change the cam follower pin and make sure non of the linkage is damaged or broken and you will need to remove the top cover to do the work.

CWJ it seems it is time to remove the top cover and give it some TLC. First thing is to replace the cam follower pin,,,,$2 bucks. I use the I&T FO-20 manual to do all the adjustments and how to"s. You should also replace the o-rings in the hyd. piston while there. Richard

Thanks everyone, greatly appreciated! I've got a seal/o-ring kit and pin in hand, I'll let you know how it goes.

Charles
