I've seen the exact same thing happen on a John Derre and it was a plugged injector that caused it.

Something has caused the pump to bind up rather solidly. I would consider the possibility that some water entered the system. Water won't inject, and can often blow the injector tips off. It wouldn't surprise me if it would cause damage similar to yours. That's not necessairly the case, but it wouldn't hurt to drain the fuel tank and make sure it's clean, change the filter, and purge the system. That way, when you have the pump repaired, and the injectors checked, you'll have fewer things to worry about when it's reinstalled. Good luck.

Pull your injectors and have them pressure checked. One or more of them is plugged up and it causes a build up of pressure that shears the shaft in the pump. This usually ruins the head in the pump when it happens so you will have to have the pump rebuilt again.

Something seized inside of pump. Head and rotor probably. Was pump rebuilt or used??I ran into that on a Deere 690-A.. Ran strong for about 2 minutes after replacing with a rebuild unit.
