Hi guys ,have some odd questions. I picked up a used clutch pedal on EB for an 800 because Ineeded the rod and dual hole clevis. My pedal has an ess curve in it and the one I got is just angled out to miss the steering .What year did they change and which one do you guys prefer? I also needed a pedal bushing, which FNH said is not available any more (I ordered some stock bushings from McMaster). Also the used pedal came with a real good pivot pin, do you have to tear the tranny down to change it? Sorry this is so long Thanks -Larry

Do you have a 4 speed or 5 speed trans? I have a 5 speed and the pivot pin is tapered where it fits into the trans housing. There is a large (15/16" if i remember correctly) nut inside the transmission that pulls the taper in tight. I believe it is accesible without tearing down the trans but you will have to pull the shifter and top cover to gain access to it.

My pivot pin was worn all lopsided so I replaced it when I rebuilt my trans. A new pin was exhorbitantly expensive from NH so a friend of mine turned me one from a piece of bar stock on his lathe. I bought a standard bushing from an industrial supply house for a couple of dollars. I bought the 2 bushings for the throwout bearing shaft from NH and they were over $30 each! (Ouch)

I think the pedal change was 1956, since my 55 has the straight one and my 56 has the curved style which I prefer. As far as the pivot pin you will have to go in the trans, but I'm not sure how far I have not changed one.
