The Ford 535 is a fine industrial tractor. I have a 1978 unit with the 755 (15') backhoe and 4500 loader which I have owned for 5 years. (Total hours about 1400) This tractor has some excellent features, including torque converter drive with shuttle reverse. Mine has the 3 cylinder diesel engine, but it may have been available with a gasoline engine as well. The hydraulics are very capable (28 gpm) and the 4500 loader and 755 backhoe have been good to me. One quirk is the link chain used to swing the backhoe. It has never given me trouble, but the chains are a very expensive replacement part ($440 ea., and there are two on the hoe.) Parts support is good, and New Holland also sells the operator and service manuals for this unit, including the manuals for loader and backhoe attachments. This tractor in serviceable condition should be worth $8000 or more.
