Just bought tractor and was concerned about oil pressure when hot: 10-15 idle and 40-45 hot or cold @ 1400rpm.

Pulled pan to check bearings, etc.and found the nut and seal missing on the line from the pump to the main gallery.

Checked all bearings while in there, almost new: 0.002-0.003 clearance - 0.005 of crank end play.
Replaces seal and nut and new pump. The relief valve was stuck in new pump and pressure would peg 80# on gauge. Oil filter gasket would leak. Put warranty pump on. Now have 70# cold/45# hot.

When you start up small incline, pressure drops 20#. When you start down hill, pressure increases 20#.Am concerned about pick up screen against bottom of oil pan. Could this be it?

Is the suction pipe a press fit into the pump? Air leak...
Your numbers are good except for up and down hill.
